Creatures / 2016 / prod. Studio Munka / Written and Directed by Tessa Moult-Milewska
Creatures is a grotesque love story created in cut-out stop-motion animation. It’s a tale of two caricatures of people trying to adjust to the black and white environment they live in. During their search for acceptance, they conceal their distinctive features, but they can’t hide their true nature.
Creatures was the 2nd most often shown abroad Polish animation of 2016 according to the Krakow Film Foundation. It has been licensed to the Sundance Channel and emitted for 3 years in over 48 countries of the world.
The unusual aesthetics and wonderfully run narration of Creatures makes up a perfectly devised film that entertains despite its undeniable bizarreness.
